Grade 6 student leaders learning to solder for the first time and they smashed it out!

The mechanical robotic arm we are building over 5 workshops is best simplified using a PCB. Engineers at BOSCH had these made after they were designed by RTL facilitator Raj who has just finished his 3rd year of Electrical Engineering at RMIT.
Each board still requires pins to be soldered to each board. Last night our fantastic undergraduates from Robogals – Monash, and Raj worked back late with our student leaders to solder pins to these PCBs.
Our student leaders were able to learn under the supervision of the undergraduate engineers. As you will see they embraced the challenge with such willingness.
Special thanks to Dave Rogers, Principal of Forest Hill College and his team for kindly providing us with the space to work out of their new STEAM centre.
Whilst the soldering was taking place, Steve Baker from SIEMENS was in the background working on a future project for 2018!
Once again this just demonstrates the value of partnerships!
