It was great to welcome Alexia, a new Robogal – Monash Facilitator to her first RTL STEM workshop! Last session we welcomed Andrew a graduate from Swinburne to his first. Great to see the TEAM growing!
We encourage interested undergraduates to use the link below if interested in joining our team.
We began last nights session reminding students around the importance of collaboration. It’s great when a student like Jono provides a beautiful example of collaboration having posted a video on Trello in response to another student’s problem posed.
This reminded John, engineer at Bosch of a quote from Robert Bosch himself:
“Whenever you cannot do something yourself – be it for lack of skill or lack of time – the main thing is to know who the right people are for the job.” (from: memoirs of Robert Bosch, 1921, quoted in: Bosch-Zünder, 23 (1941), p. 62)
Then we introduced students (most for the first time) to Arduino and “Bread Boarding”. Always a treat to see this in action.
Then we resumed building of the students' robot mechanical arms.
Whilst this was happening, Lenny a Grade 6 Student leader and his Dad were participating in a risk assessment with John from Bosch before Lenny takes on the responsibility for off-site 3D printing for the RTL team. This will enable students to have 3D designs they create in Cad printed.
